Admission Requirements
  1. Introduction

BMMA commits to fostering academic excellence and providing an inclusive environment that accommodates a diverse student body, including international and non-traditional students. Our mission is to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in a competitive and evolving global environment.

  1. General Admission Requirements

  • Academic Qualifications:
    • Applicants must achieve a minimum of five passes at GCE, BGCSE, or equivalent examinations, with grades no lower than C, including English Language. Alternatively, four BGCSE subject passes with a minimum grade of C are acceptable.
  • Standardized Test Scores:
    • Non-Regional Applicants: Must score at least 1170 on the SAT I.
    • Science-Based Programs: Require a minimum score of 650 on relevant SAT II subject tests.
    • ACT Requirement: A composite score of 26 is accepted.
  1. Additional Pathways

  • College Preparation Program (CPP): Designed for applicants who lack traditional qualifications, this program offers foundational courses to prepare students for degree-level studies. Successful completion guarantees admission.
  • Students may be required to complete all or some of the following courses: Mathematics, English, Biology, Chemistry, History and Geography
  • Mature Student Entry Route: Targets applicants aged 21 and over, evaluating their life and work experiences through competency assessments and potentially specific CPP courses to facilitate admission.
  • Transfer Students
    • Credit Transfer: Students must have achieved at least sophomore standing with a minimum of 32 transferable semester credits from recognized tertiary institutions. Credits must be relevant to the student’s chosen program at BMMA.
    • Policy on Credit Recognition: Detailed policies on credit transfer, including equivalency guidelines, are available on the BMMA website and through the admissions office.

  • Eligibility: Detailed criteria, procedures, and deadlines for various financial aid options and scholarships are clearly outlined to assist students financially.
  • Application Process: Students must complete financial aid applications and submit necessary documentation by specified deadlines.

  • Comprehensive Services: BMMA offers tutoring, counseling, career services, and disability accommodations to support student success.
  • Accessibility: Ensures that all students, particularly those from underrepresented groups and non-traditional backgrounds, have access to necessary resources.

  • Submission Requirements: Applicants must submit a completed application form along with necessary documentation, such as transcripts and standardized test scores, by the specified deadline.
  • Additional Materials: Some programs may require personal statements, recommendation letters, or portfolios.
  1. Review and Decision Process

  • Evaluation: Each application is thoroughly reviewed against BMMA’s admission standards.
  • Communication: Admissions decisions are communicated within six weeks of the application deadline. An appeals process is in place for applicants who wish to contest the admissions decision.
